Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has pulled out of England's friendly with Denmark with a back injury. Aston Villa striker Darius Vassell is doubtful with a knee injury and has undergone a scan with his club in Dubai before his fitness is reassessed.
FA press officer Adrian Bevington told TheFA.com: "Steven Gerrard has a back strain and after full consultation between the medical staff at Liverpool and England, has pulled out of the squad.
"Vassell played for Aston Villa in Dubai last night and picked up a knock to his knee and will be fully assessed when he arrives at the England camp but he won't train today."
