Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs highlighted the current problems at Old Trafford when he claimed that he prefers playing for Wales than for his club.
United players and staff are quick to dispell any talk of a crisis at Old Trafford, but they are currently nine points off the pace in the Premiership and have only managed to win six of their fourteen league games this season. Giggs highlighted the mood at the Old Trafford club when he said: "I am enjoying playing for Wales more than United at the moment But that's not hard is it?"
United could only manage to take a point from bottom of the table West Ham on Sunday and Giggs bemoaned their lack of luck. "It was a disappointing game against West Ham and (we were) unfortunate not to finish with the win. We had a couple of chances near the end and it was a shame we could not take one."
The 'Welsh wizard' will hope to put his clubs troubles to one side as Wales aim to consolidate their position at the top of their European Championship qualifying Group Nine when they take on Azerbaijan on Wednesday.
Wales have been hit by mass withdrawals for the game, but skipper Gary Speed feels that they still have enough quality to beat Azerbaijan. "We have individuals who can win the games for us. But the concept is that people come in and work as part of the team, and that's brought us success," he insisted.
