Dunne suspended by Manchester City

Republic of Ireland defender Richard Dunne has been suspended by his club Manchester City for what they have described as a "serious breach of discipline". Chief Operating Officer Chris Bird refused to elaborate on the incident but Dunne was not part of the City side that was named to take on Blackburn at Maine Road in the Premiership this afternoon.

The Irish international has made just a single appearance for the club so far this season, and only as a substitute on the opening day against Leeds. In a statement released to the press, Bird said the matter would be investigated further this week before further action was taken.
