Newcastle United are on the verge of signing Ipswich defender Titus Bramble after both clubs agreed an undisclosed fee for the player. The signing of Bramble will add to manager Bobby Robson's defensive worries ahead of the current Premiership season and their appearance in the Champion League.
England Under-21 defender Bramble will travel to St James' Park today to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical. "It will be sad to lose Titus if he does agree to join Newcastle. He has tremendous natural ability and has the potential to become a future England International", said Ipswich manager George Burley.
