Gregory reassures Ginola about his future

Aston Villa boss John Gregory has reassured gifted midfielder David Ginola that he has a major role to play at Villa Park this coming season. The Frenchman has had a turbulent time at the Midlands club since his arrival there from Tottenham Hotspur just over a year ago and made only 15 starts all season for Villa. However, Ginola has had an impressive pre-season, performing well as a substitute in his three Intertoto Cup outings and Gregory insists his plans include the flamboyant Frenchman.

"David has got that something extra and he has got a big part to play here. He can go on and turn results or turn defeat into victory and he can do that almost single-handedly. It does not matter whether it is David Ginola or Steve Staunton. They are all big players for us and over the season they will all have their role," explained the Villa manager.
