Neil Lennon is the latest Northern Ireland player to injure himself ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria. The Celtic midfielder joined Aaron Hughes on the casualty list after he twisted his ankle this morning at CSKA Sofia's training ground where the Irish are preparing for tomorrow night's clash. Hughes sat out the training session and received further physio which he hopes will allow him the opportunity to play some part in the match.
"I just got a knock in training yesterday and hopefully I will be all right. It's not a pull or a strain or anything like that, so it's not too serious," explained Hughes. Lennon is also confident he can recover in time to feature against Bulgaria. "I've just twisted my ankle and hopefully I will be okay for tomorrow," he said.
Good news for Northern Ireland boss Sammy McIlroy is that Jim Magilton has recovered from his hamstring injury and trained today with the rest of the squad.
