Lee Carsley’s nightmare season at Blackburn Rovers looks like coming to an end, with news that he is to sign for Coventry City tomorrow. City have called a press conference for 9.15am tomorrow morning, and the Republic of Ireland midfielder is expected to be unveiled by Gordon Strachan as he attempts to secure The Sky Blues’ Premiership status for another season.
Rovers boss Graeme Souness has confirmed that a fee has been agreed for the 26-year-old, who was captain and top scorer at Ewood Park last season. Carsley put in a transfer request during the summer, and although he later withdrew it, he has struggled to hold down a first-team place in Souness' squad. Carsley cost Blackburn £3.4million in March 1999 when he joined the Lancashire club from Derby County.
