Irish Sydney 2000 hopefuls Tom Fitzpatrick and David McHugh have made the first of 3 qualifying standards at the 470 World Championships in Hungary. They now need two more top 12 nation results over the next 5 grade one events to qualify for the Sydney Olympics. And at the Star Class championships in the USA, Mark Mansfield and David O'Brien are on course to complete their selection criteria as they are currently 9th overall in a fleet of almost 140 boats.
