Munster have confirmed the signing of Jack Aungier from Connacht, with the tighthead prop joining on a two-year deal from next season.

The 27-year-old, who made his Ireland debut in the 2025 summer Test against Georgia in Tbilisi, has played 100 times for Connacht since joining from Leinster in 2020.

Aungier, whose expected move to Munster had been reported for some time, is the second front row signing for Clayton McMillan's side next season, with hooker Marnus van der Merwe also joining from Scarlets.

"I’m really excited to be joining Munster Rugby next season," the tighthead prop said.

"This squad has a brilliant blend of young talent and experienced leaders, and I can’t wait to be part of it. I’m looking forward to getting started, contributing to the team, and making an impact on and off the field."

Dublin-born Aungier came through the Leinster academy and played five times for his home province before being recruited by Andy Friend to Connacht in 2020.

Last month, he reached his 100th appearance for the province, and has played 12 times for Stuart Lancaster’s side this season, scoring three tries.

In addition to his Ireland cap, the front row has also represented Emerging Ireland and Ireland A, while he also played for the Barbarians against an All Blacks XV in November.

Munster general manager, Ian Costello, added: "We’re delighted to welcome Jack to Munster Rugby. He brings a wealth of experience and his quality is reflected in his call up to the Ireland squad last summer.

"He’s a powerful scrummager, dynamic ball carrier and has a range of skills which we think will add massive value to Munster Rugby."
