Johnny Sexton will win his 100th cap for Ireland after Andy Farrell named his team to play Japan on Saturday.

The Ireland skipper will be partnered by Leinster team-mate Jamison Gibson-Park, with regular scrum-half Conor Murray on the bench for the Autumn Nations Series game at the Aviva (1pm, live on RTÉ).

The Munster man has just made one appearance as a replacement since returning from the Lions tour.

With Robbie Henshaw still recovering from a foot injury, Bundee Aki and Garry Ringrose are the centre pairing, combining for the first time since the October 2020 Six Nations match against Italy.

Hugo Keenan continues at full-back for a 14th consecutive match with James Lowe and Andrew Conway on the wings.

Tadhg Furlong starts at tighthead prop on his 50th cap, while Andrew Porter takes the number 1 shirt for the first time in an international match.

Farrell has gone for Rónan Kelleher at hooker, with fellow Leinster number 2 Dan Sheehan, who is in line for a debut, on the bench, meaning Ulster's Rob Herring is not in the match-day squad.

James Ryan and Tadhg Beirne claim the second row berths.

Lions number 8 Jack Conan starts with Caelan Doris and Josh van der Flier at 6 and 7 making up an all-Leinster back row.

Farrell will hold a press conference later this afternoon.
