Billy Dardis, Jordan Conroy and Aaron O'Sullivan have all been added to the Irish squad for the second leg of their HSBC World Series in Canada this weekend.

All three are brought back into the squad having been rested for last week's tournament in Vancouver.

Director of Sevens Anthony Eddy had previously named a new-look team to travel to Canada, where an inexperienced side earned a fourth place finish.

However, following injuries to Gavin Mullin, Ed Kelly and Mark Roche, Eddy has recalled the experienced trio of Dardis, Conroy and O'Sullivan, who will join the squad for the final leg of the shortened world series in Edmonton.

Dardis captained Ireland at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, while Conroy was also part of the Olympic squad.

Leinster wing O'Sullivan has previous experience with Ireland's Sevens programme, featuring regularly prior to the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.

Ireland will open their campaign against Germany on Saturday (9.44am local time/4.44pm Irish time), before further Pool C clashes against Jamaica (12.55pm local time/7.55pm Irish time) and Great Britain (4.28pm local time/11.28pm Irish time) later in the day.
