Conor Murray will miss Munster's Guinness Pro14 Rainbow Cup clash against Cardiff Blues at Thomond Park on Friday.

The Ireland scrum-half sustained a "low-grade leg injury" against Connacht on 14 May the province confirmed and while he will miss this week's game, the 32-year-old is expected to be available for the following round of the competition when Munster face Zebre on 11 June.

Murray is among eight Ireland players included in the British & Irish Lions squad for the tour to South Africa which is due to take place between 3 July and 7 August.

Munster also confirmed that Roman Salanoa will be unavailable against Cardiff after the prop suffered an ankle injury, while Thomas Ahern is another absentee this weekend after missing training due to illness, although he has rehabbed a knee injury.

Centre Chris Farrell is undergoing rehab on a groin injury and will also be unavailable against Cardiff alongside other absentees RG Snyman and Neil Cronin (both knee).

But Gavin Coombes is back in training having missed the Connacht clash as a late withdrawal due to illness, while scrum-half Paddy Patterson has also returned to training after recovering from an ankle injury.
