Highlanders lock Jack Regan has made the Super Rugby Aotearoa team of the week having made his debut in the competition yesterday.
The 23-year-old Offaly man, who had stints with Leinster and Ulster, played for 66 minutes of his side's defeat to Crusaders at the Otago Stadium, in what was the opening game of the 2021 season.
The second row’s name appeared on the team of the week selection alongside a host of New Zealand internationals including Ardie Savea, Aaron Smith, Richie Mo’unga and Sevu Reece.
Met this young man before lockdown to chat about his future. His determination and resilience was obvious. To go to New Zealand and earn the right to play @SuperRugbyNZ and to be selected in their Team of week is incredible 👏@JackRegan16 pic.twitter.com/BROUslE1L6
