Leinster will start tomorrow's Heineken Champions Cup opener against Montpellier without Johnny Sexton and James Ryan, with the Ireland duo named on the replacements bench.

The pair were injured on Ireland duty, out-half Sexton suffering a dead leg and lock Ryan was removed for a head injury assessment in last weekend's Autumn Nations Cup win over Scotland, and both have been deemed fit to play their part in France.

Ross Byrne starts at 10, while Scott Fardy and Devin Toner make up the second row.

There is a European debut for full-back Jimmy O'Brien, who has recovered from a back injury, while centre Ciarán Frawley earns his first Champions Cup start, alongside Ireland international Robbie Henshaw.
