Ulster’s front row options have been hit with the news that prop Kyle McCall will be out of action for 12 weeks.

The loosehead had elbow surgery yesterday to repair a torn tendon sustained in training and will miss around three months of action.

He joins props Tom O’Toole (concussion), Marty Moore (calf), Tommy O’Hagan (perforated ear drum) and hooker Rory Best (hamstring) on the sidelines.

Dan McFarland is also without David Busby (knee), Jean Deysel (knee), Louis Ludik (hamstring), Luke Marshall (knee), Stewart Moore (knee), Clive Ross (knee) and Jacob Stockdale (hamstring).

Ulster, who beat Scarlets on Saturday in their opening Guinness Pro14 tie, face Edinburgh on Friday night (7.35pm) at the Kingspan Stadium.
