Connacht have pulled out of signing Eroni Vasiteri after the Fijian centre picked up a nine-week ban for eye gouging.
It was announced last month that Narumasa penned a one-year deal with the Westerners, with the option for a further year if the province wished to extend his stay.
However the move will not be happening, after the Fijian Drua man was found guilty of gouging Canberra Vikings hooker hooker Folau Fainga'a during their National Rugby Championship clash.
"Connacht Rugby can confirm that following discussions with Eroni Vasiteri it has been agreed by both parties that Vasiteri’s planned move to Connacht will not now proceed," a statement from the province read.
"Due to a recent suspension Vasiteri would not have been in a position to proceed with the move until later in the season.
"Connacht Rugby wishes Eroni Vasiteri every success in his future career and hope to make an announcement on an alternative signing shortly."
Meanwhile the province could have Tiernan O'Halloran and Niyi Adeolokun available for selection for Saturday's Challenge Cup encounter against Worcester Warriors (3pm).
Ireland international O'Halloran returned to training this week following a hip injury suffered against Ulster, while Adeolokun came through 40 minutes for the Eagles at the weekend with no ill effects.
Out-half Steve Crosbie will be sidelined for a number of weeks with an ankle injury, while an Achilles tendon injury means Andrew Browne won't return to the field until early November also.
Jake Heenan (knee) and Peter Robb (hip) are not expected to be at Kieran Keane's disposal until December, while flanker Sean O'Brien (shoulder) will not return until the New Year.
