Dragons lock Rynard Landman’s appeal against his six-week suspension for striking Connacht’s Jack Carty has been dismissed.

The South African player appealed on the grounds that the offence did not warrant a top-end entry point of nine weeks, and that in reducing the entry point suspension by just three weeks to take account of mitigating factors, the disciplinary committee had erred. 

The committee dismissed the appeal in its entirety and ordered the player to pay costs.
