Munster's search for a top quality International full back has come to an end with confirmation that they have secured the services of All-Black number 15 Christian Cullen. The versatile Cullen, who has also played at outside centre and wing for his country, has been out of favour with the New Zealand management team for some time and did not line out for their recent defeat against England.
Munster boss Alan Gaffney cast his net world wide to secure the services of a player capable of igniting his back division and, after being disappointed by Chris Latham who elected to stay in Australia after a campaign by fans, he eventually secured the services of Cullen reportedly after being contacted by the players' agent.
Cullen made his All-Black debut in 1996 in the 51-10 win over Samoa and became New Zealand's highest try scorer in his half century of consecutive Test matches.
The All-Black ace is also one of the leading try scorers in Super 12 rugby history but his arrival on three year contract will challenge the current incumbent, Jeremey Staunton, who may look to play his rugby elsewhere.
