There has been a big boost for the Irish bloodstock industry with the news that Giant's Causeway will retire to stud in Ireland at Coolmore. It had been expected that the six-times Group One winner would travel to Coolmore's sister operation, Ashford Stud in Kentucky but that is not so.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained 'Iron horse' has a record of nine wins and three seconds from twelve starts and he is the first horse since Nijinksy to win five consecutive Group One races.
