Iron Horse Giant's Causeway is to commence stud duties at Coolmore next year, it was confirmed today. The news that the six-times Group One winner will remain in this country rather than stand at Coolmore's sister operation, Ashford Stud in Kentucky, means it is a sizeable boost to the Irish bloodstock industry.
Gaint's record stands at nine wins and three seconds from 12 starts and he is the first horse since Nijinksy to win five consecutive Group One races. Before his retirement, Giant's Causeway will first face Fusaichi Pegasus who will himself be standing for Coolmore at Ashford next year in the Breeders'Cup Classic at Churchill Downs.
