• So that's it from Paris and the quarter-finals as France join Germany, Wales and Portugal in the last four of the tournament. Iceland were well and truly outclassed tonight as France put them to the sword with a ruthless opening 45 minutes...The hosts led 4-0 at half-time and while Iceland scored twice in the second half, Didier Deschamps team were already thinking of the semi-final clash against Germany.

The hosts now find themselves up against Germany for a place in the final, without ever really been tested at this tournament, apart from that early shock that they had to recover from against Ireland.

But the team have enjoyed a very favourable schedule and should be the much fresher side when they take on Germany on Thursday, especially after the Germans' gruelling extra-time encounter against the Italians.

No football now for two days but we're back on Wednesday for the first semi-final as Wales take on Portugal, followed by that France v Germany encounter on Thursday. Goodnight.
