Eli Manning and the New York Giants belatedly got their season up and running as they claimed a 23-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Manning picked out Rueben Randle with a 24-yard TD pass in the second and Peyton Hillis ran for a touchdown in the third, while Josh Brown kicked three field goals to help the Giants claim their first win of the season.

Marcus Sherels scored on an 86-yard punt return in the first for the Vikings, although it was a mixed night for him as his spill led to Hillis' TD, while Josh Freeman struggled on his debut completing 20 of 53 passes for 190 yards.
