The Sauber Formula One team have yet to decide whether they will sign up to the new testing rules, which are expected to be introduced at the start of next season.
Under the proposed rule change, all teams that choose to restrict private testing to only ten days next season are to be permitted to run with a spare car and third driver on every Friday morning of a race weekend. For the rule to come into being, three teams will have to sign-up to it before December 15.
Sauber team supremo Peter Sauber claim that his team are still undecided on whether they will sign up to the proposals, but admits that he is tempted. "It needs careful analysis to weigh up the benefits in terms of money and extra time on the race track against the disadvantages in terms of development. If we accept 10 days' restriction then we would expand our programme on those 10 days from one to two cars," he said.
Minardi are expected to sign up, with Jordan and British American Racing also known to be interested in the new proposals.
