Colin Fennelly has confirmed he will not be returning to the Kilkenny set-up after deciding to call time on his inter-county career.

The two-time All-Star captained Ballyhale Shamrocks to a fourth successive county title yesterday - his 10th and second four-in-a-row - after they edged out O'Loughlin Gaels, but the decorated full-forward admitted afterwards that he no longer feels the desire to don the black and amber jersey.

A skilful target man with an eye for goal, the 32-year-old won four All-Ireland titles after making his senior debut in 2011 and was an All Star in 2012 and 2014.

In recent years became a focal point of the Kilkenny attack with TJ Reid, but opted to sit out the 2021 season.

"No, I'll be finished up," he said when asked on his Kilkenny plans.

"I have had enough. I had a year to think about it and I am glad I took that time to think about it. I am happy playing with the club and there are so many young lads coming through.

"I had a great time playing with Kilkenny. Fantastic so it was."
