Kilkenny have left 11-time All Star Henry Shefflin on the bench for Sunday's All-Ireland hurling final against Tipperary but made three changes to the side that beat Limerick.
Shefflin came on against the Shannonsiders but has often been kept in reserve by manager Brian Cody this term.
Elsewhere, 24-year-old goalkeeper Eoin Murphy comes in for David Herity.
Murphy had started the Leinster ties against Offaly and Galway but went off injured in the replay win over the Tribesmen.
Walter Walsh and Richie Power come into the full-forward line alongside Eoin Larkin, with TJ Reid at wing-forward and Mark Kelly and Padraig Walsh dropping to the substitutes.
Tipperary have named an unchanged side for Sunday's clash.
Kilkenny: E Murphy; P Murphy, JJ Delaney, J Tyrrell; J Holden, B Hogan, Cillian Buckley; Richie Hogan, Conor Fogarty; M Fennelly, C Fennelly, TJ Reid; W Walsh, R Power, Eoin Larkin.
