Antrim 2-12 Kilkenny 1-20

There was no repeat of last year's shock victory for Antrim, the reigning Walsh Cup champions, as a late surge helped Kilkenny win today's semi-final clash at Casement Park.

The All-Ireland kingpins were 1-06 to 0-08 behind at half-time with PJ O'Connell netting for Antrim and Paul Shields striking four points.

Kilkenny got a goal through Richie Hogan, and although the impressive Michael Herron levelled with Antrim's second goal, nearing the hour mark, the Cats pull cleared again with scores from John Mulhall and Michael Rice.

Galway 1-21 Wexford 4-09

Galway are through to their first ever Walsh Cup final following this afternoon's goal-fest at New Ross.

Ger Farragher (1-09) top-scored for the visitors in a lively
semi-final, and nabbed their only goal in the third minute.

Rory Jacob and Eoin Quigley netted before half-time for Wexford, who looked convincing when Stephen Banville and Nicky Kirwan added further goals.

However, Colm Bonnar's charges failed to score in the closing 17
minutes, as Galway defended superbly to set up a mouth-watering meeting with Kilkenny.

Walsh Shield Semi-finals

Dublin 0-16 Laois 1-08

Anthony Daly's Dublin set up a Walsh Shield final clash with Offaly
next weekend, courtesy of a six-point win over Laois at Abbeyleix.

Alan McCrabbe (0-07), David O'Callaghan (0-06) and Shane Durkin (0-02) were impressive for a Dublin side that held a 0-10 to 0-05 half-time lead.

The hosts rallied with a Willie Hyland goal from a close range free,
pulling it back to 0-15 to 1-05.

However, 'Dotsy' O'Callaghan kept the visitors on top as they held out for a deserved victory.

Offaly 3-15 UCD 1-10

Shane Dooley bagged a hat-trick of goals as Offaly gave a convincing display against UCD at Banagher.

This Walsh Shield semi-final was a fiercely-contested affair,
particularly in the first half at the end of which Offaly led by 0-08
to 0-06.

UCD netted through Dublin's Joey Maher on the restart, but Dooley was really on fire, and bagged a second half hat-trick.

An understrength UCD, who were without five players through injury, simply had no answer as Joe Dooley's charges convincingly booked a final spot.
