Cork hurling legend  Seán Óg Ó hAilpín has revealed that he is likely to quit inter-county hurling in three years' time.

The star, who turns 30 later this year, has also revealed that his desire is to make his exit at the highest level with a bang.

'I'm gearing myself now towards my last three years and I want to finish with a bang before I go on to the next chapter in my life,' he said.

'I want to make those last years as good as possible. I don't want to finish up in three years time beaten in the first round.'

Cork will encounter their first real test of the Allianz NHL campiagn when they take on Waterford on Sunday and will give a good indication of how Cork are progressing under manager Gerald McCarthy.

'Waterford is a tough assignment. People are looking for early indicators and this one of those games.'
