Adare Manor will host the 46th Ryder Cup next year

Residents in Adare, Co Limerick, have been offered complimentary tickets to the Ryder Cup, which takes place in Adare Manor in September next year.

Ryder Cup Europe has ringfenced a certain number of tickets per day for residents, which will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

They are also providing an option to purchase tickets for any day, so that the people of Adare have an opportunity to enjoy the event with family and friends.

Ryder Cup tickets made exclusively available to Irish fans, priced at €499 each, sold out in under an hour last Friday, while practice day (€89) and weekly tickets (€1,999) sold out in under four hours.

Over 150,000 people had pre-registered for early access. Those unsuccessful will have a second chance in the full public ballot, which opens on Wednesday, 3 June.

The postman delivered the good news to households in the village of Adare in recent days.

The letter from Ryder Cup Europe acknowledges the community as a central partner in delivering the event as host village.

It says the organisers' ambition is that Adare will reap economic benefits from the Ryder Cup, and that the community will have memorable experiences.

It also acknowledges that the construction phase and event delivery will have an impact on daily life in the village, which it says organisers will work to minimise.

Ryder Cup Europe says it sincerely appreciates the ongoing cooperation and support of residents, businesses and community groups in Adare.

The letter states: "As a gesture of this appreciation we would like to offer you two complimentary tickets for the 2027 Ryder Cup, which can be redeemed for any of the days, Tuesday to Sunday".

"We have ringfenced a certain number of tickets per day for residents which will be allocated on a first come first served basis."

The letter is signed by Richard Atkinson, who is the chief Ryder Cup officer with Ryder Cup Europe.

There have been regular meetings and briefings with local people in Adare as they prepare to host the prestigious sporting event in their village.
