Leona Maguire will start Sunday's final round at the LPGA Mediheal Championship five shots adrift of the lead after a third-round 74.
The Cavan native who had led the way after Thursday's opening round in California, came into the third round one stroke behind the leader but a triple bogey on the ninth hole, a double bogey on the first and further bogeys on eight and 16 impacted her progress.
However, three birdies on five, 14 and 15 as well as an eagle on 18 kept Maguire in touch with the top 10 on four under.
Taiwan's Min Lee holds the overall lead and is on the cusp of winning her first LPGA tournament after taking a two-stroke lead through that third round.
The 26-year-old mixed five birdies with a bogey on the par-five fifth hole to finish with a four-under 68 to be nine under overall.
Finland's Matilda Castren and American Lauren Kim are two strokes further back.
