Leona Maguire holds the early lead after the opening round at the LPGA Mediheal Championship in California after shooting a seven-under-par 65.
Maguire made an impressive start at Lake Merced Golf Club, carding birdies in four of her first six holes on the back nine.
The Cavan golfer bogeyed the 16th hole but then responded with three successive birdies.
Further birdies followed at the fifth and eighth holes and although she finished with a bogey on the par-five ninth, Maguire still equalled the tournament's 18-hole scoring record.
Maguire had initially held a four-shot lead in the clubhouse with Da Yeon Lee, Mariajo Uribe and Jane Park finishing on three under par.
But Thailand's Thidapa Suwannapura closed to within a shot of that lead after carding an opening 66 to move onto six-under.
Albane Valenzuela, Alison Lee and Da-Yeon Lee are tied for third on four-under.
Antrim's Stephanie Meadow endured a nightmare first round which included a double bogey on the second hole.
Six bogeys in her final 11 holes left her out of contention on eight over par.
