Daniel Berger will take a three-shot advantage into the final round at the FedEx St. Jude Classic as he bids for a maiden PGA Tour title.

Berger shot a one-under round of 69 to maintain the three-shot lead he took into the third round but has veterans Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker breathing down his neck.

"If it was Tiger Woods behind me, I would have the same mentality," Berger told reporters. "It doesn't matter. It's golf. The golf course doesn't know who is playing it, so I'm just going to go out there and be aggressive and have some fun, and that's all I can do."

Berger sunk four birdies and also had a bogey and double bogey as he sits on 10 under, three ahead of Mickelson, Stricker and D.A. Points.

Seung-yul Noh, Colt Knost and Brooks Koepka are a shot further back on six under.

Mickelson has not won since his 2013 Open Championship title and will be in the group ahead of Berger for the final round on Sunday.

"That's always an advantageous spot if you can get off to a good day," Mickelson said. "It's much more difficult to follow birdies than it is to lead by them."

Stricker will play with Mickelson on Sunday after a bogey-free round got him into contention for a first victory since 2012.

"I'll be nervous," Stricker said. "It's been a while since I've been up there and have an opportunity to win. I'm excited for the challenge. That's what we want to be out here for is to get into that position."
