Coles wins South Australian Open

Australian Gavin Coles has won the US$500,000 South Australian Open in Adelaide after carding a final-round 72 to win by two shots.

Coles led the field going into the fourth round with a score of nine under par 207, narrowly ahead of American Bryce Molder (208) and Australia's Peter Fowler (209). Both Molder and Fowler carded 73s in the final round to finish second and third respectively.

The win leaves Coles $90,000 richer and the Australian was in no doubt as to how he would spend it. "I'm going to own my house for a start. My wife doesn't have to work five days a week now, she's been doing it for 10 years," he said.
