Limerick are sweating on the fitness of Hurler of the Year Cian Lynch after he limped off in the early stages of the All-Ireland champions' Munster SHC victory over Waterford.
The game was just nine minutes old when the centre-forward was replaced following a hamstring injury.
Manager John Kiely will hope his talisman does not face a long recovery period in a hurling championship that will be over by 17 July.
"It's a hamstring injury," Kiely confirmed to RTÉ Sport after the game.
"How severe it is we don’t know, we’ll have to get him scanned on Monday.
"He’ll be out of training for a couple of weeks I would imagine but we’ll have to wait and see."
Lynch's absence didn't hold Limerick back however. His replacement Cathal O'Neill scored 0-03 as the champions held off a late Waterford rally to win 0-30 to 2-21.
Waterford also lost Iarlaith Daly in the first half to an ankle problem while Tadhg de Burca was replaced late on.
"It's a bit early to assess but I think it’s going to be okay," said manager Liam Cahill of Daly's injury.
"Tadhg de Burca came off with a hamstring complaint as well so we have our concerns for three weeks’ time but we’ll get on top of it."
