The Donegal Competition Controls Committee (CCC) have decided that the 2020 SFC final between Naomh Conaill and Kilcar should be replayed.

Kilcar were beaten 4-2 on penalties in the delayed county final on 14 August but lodged an appeal on the basis that Naomh Conaill brought on four substitutes during extra-time.

The rules permit that only three subs can be used in extra-time.

John O'Malley and Kieran Gallagher were introduced during the first period, with Marty Boyle and Charles McGuinness brought on towards the end of the second period.

The Donegal CCC met on Thursday and found that Naomh Conaill committed a breach of Rule 2.3(ii), which specifies only three subs are allowed in extra-time.

The CCC could have awarded the game to Kilcar but decided on a replay, which was confirmed following a full meeting on Sunday evening.

Naomh Conaill had won the Division 1 title earlier on Sunday, beating Cloughaneely by 2-15 to 0-17 as the club celebrated their 100th anniversary in style.

Naomh Conaill have the option of appealing the decision to the Ulster Council.
