Clg Chill Chartha (Kilcar) have lodged an appeal to the outcome of last Saturday's delayed 2020 Donegal SFC final on the basis that the winners Naomh Conaill brought on four substitutes during extra-time.
It certainly was a dramatic evening in Ballybofey as Naomh Conaill retained their title with a dramatic 4-2 shoot-out win after the sides finished level following the regulation 70 minutes and the subsequent two 10-minute periods.
The rules permit that only three substitutes can be used in extra-time.
Clg Chill Chartha's appeal was lodged with the Donegal GAA's Competitions Controls Committee (CCC) on Tuesday evening, with the club stating that no further statements will be made at this time.
The CCC confirmed that they have received correspondence from Kilcar and are set to meet to discuss the matter.
If Naomh Conaill are found to be in breach of rules relating to subs, the CCC can award the game to Clg Chill Chartha, fine Naomh Conaill or order a replay.
The Glenties club have three days from receipt of notification of the objection to respond.
CLG Chill Chartha wish to confirm that we have lodged an objection to the CCC in regards to Saturdays senior county final, no further statements will be made at this time.
