Conor Sweeney hopes that Tipperary's exploits last season will lead to a new wave of enthusiasm for football in the Premier County.
On this week's episode of My Icons, a special edition of the RTÉ GAA Podcast, the 2020 All-Star full-forward reveals that his football heroes were mostly from provincial neighbours.
But he hopes that Tipp's breakthrough Munster success means their players will be a big inspiration to youngsters, in a county where hurling has traditionally been more popular.
"I definitely feel 2020 will have a positive impact on younger guys around the county," the Tipperary captain told RTÉ Sport.
"If our success this year won't do it, I don't know what will.
"It was a fantastic year for us and I have no doubt that there are young fellas in primary and secondary schools who probably have a little bit more ambition now to represent the football code in the county and I hope they do that.
"Football in this county has got a little bit more exposure over the last number of years, which is fantastic."
