Tyrone footballer Conor McKenna and Limerick hurler Gearoid Hegarty have been named as the PwC GAA/GPA Players of the month for October.
It might provide some consolation for McKenna, who kicked a point from a free in the Red Hand County's defeat to Donegal in the Ulster Championship on Sunday.
His outstanding performance of the month was his 2-1 from play as Tyrone relegated Mayo at Castlebar, as he showed his potential after a return from playing Aussie Rules football with Essendon.
Hegarty meanwhile starred for a dangerous looking Limerick outfit, who are into another Munster final after victories against neighbours Clare and Limerick.
The half-forward hit five points against the Banner, before adding two more in the conquest of the All-Ireland champions on Sunday.
