With the Irish public being urged to maintain social distancing and self-isolate if required, we are increasingly looking for movies to watch, books to read and rooms to clean.

RTÉ Sport is speaking to our sports stars and asking how they're using their time and tweaking their training routines to stay fit and healthy.

Today, it's the turn of Donegal goalkeeper Shaun Patton.

Is there one particular skill you practice every day? 

I enjoy practicing my kicking every day as it's something you can do on your own.

Netflix and chill or a nice evening jog?

I normally like to get a session in early in the day so I can relax with Netflix and chill in the evenings. 

Name one book you want to read

I wouldn’t be the best for reading books but I heard the Harry Potter books are very good. 

On a scale on 1 to 10, how good are your DIY skills?

I would say a 7, but it would probably be a hatchet job!

Have you a favourite pre-training meal to help you through a tough session?

Nothing in particular, but normally something with pasta or rice in it.

What’s the best way to stave off boredom?

Get out for a run or go kick about a football is the best was I feel to keep myself occupied 

Have you any tips for training at home?

It doesn’t have to be anything fancy. Now is a good time to practice and nail the basics

Have you discovered any new music or podcasts?

I haven’t. I have the same playlist since I was 16 and I add an odd song to it every so often! That Peter Crouch podcast is worth a listen to.

Is there one piece of housework you can no longer avoid?

Not really, I like to keep on top of things 

Favourite room of the house to spend time in 

I enjoy spending time in the kitchen as it where most of the family will be and I’m not locked away in a room by myself.
