Former Mayo star Andy Moran says he will take his time before deciding whether to move into management.
The forward called it a day in the green and red jersey on Monday after 17 years.
His one-time defensive opponent Tomás Ó Sé of Kerry, suggested today that Moran was an ideal candidate to take up a bainisteoir's bib but the Ballaghaderreen man is in no rush.
"Some people jump into situations, personally I'd like to see how good you are at certain things, see if you like it and then try to develop from there," he told RTÉ Sport GAA correspondent Marty Morrissey.
"We’ll go away and we’ll reflect and see what we’ll do. You never know what the future could hold."
Despite losing six All-Ireland finals, Moran said he will treasure the memories of the big days as he hangs up his boots at the age of 35.
"To me, [representing Mayo] was about friends and family. Where else are you going to go where you have 80,000 people like the last day in Croke Park, playing in MacHale Park, Killarney, I’ll never get that again in my life.
"Of course it’s a hard decision.
"In the end myself and my wife were comfortable with it. The emotions over the past few days with all the nice comments and messages.
"It’s been a tough two days but it’s something I’ll cherish for the rest of my life."
