Cork County Board have announced the appointment of Conor Counihan as Project Co-ordinator for Football.

This position is a newly-created three-year role with the object of implementing the #2024 Five-Year Plan for Cork Football. 

He managed Cork from 2008 to 2013, winning three Munster titles and the All-Ireland in 2010.

In recent years, he has been actively involved with Rebel Óg development squads and is a member of the board of Friend of Cork.

Cork chairperson Tracey Kennedy said: "We are delighted that Conor applied successfully for this position, which is vital to the future of Cork football.

"Conor brings with him a huge amount of experience in all aspects of Cork football, along with a passion and drive that is immeasurable, and on behalf of the County Board, I would like to welcome him to our team and wish him every success in this new role."
