Kilkenny and Galway met in this year's All-Ireland semi-final

Kilkenny will face Galway, Clare, Dublin and Waterford in the group stages of the 2017 senior camogie championship as they look to defend their All-Ireland crown.

The Cats defeated Cork by four points in this year's decider at Croke Park to bridge a 25-year gap and bring the O’Duffy Cup back Noreside.

Both finalists were seeded for the draw, which saw ten senior sides divided into two groups.

This year's defeated semi-finalists, Galway and Wexford, were also second seeds for the draw.

Kilkenny defeated Galway by two points in a semi-final en route to that historic triumph, while Group 2 will see a repeat of the other semi-final as Cork and Wexford have been drawn together.

Group 2 is completed by Limerick, Offaly and Tipperary.

The draw has also been made for the opening round of fixtures, which will take place on Saturday 10 June.

The Cats will begin their title defence in Waterford, while Dublin and Clare will also meet in Group 1.

In Group 2, Limerick will host Offaly and there is an all-Munster meeting between Tipperary and Cork.

Galway and Offaly will not be in action until the second round of fixtures due to the uneven number of teams in each group.

The draws were also made for the intermediate and premier junior championships.

The intermediate championship, which the Cats also claimed in 2016, sees them drawn in Group 1 where they will face Wexford in the opening round in a group that also contains Antrim, Derry, Kildare and Tipperary.

In Group 2 defeated finalists Cork will face Galway in the opening round, whilst the 2016 Premier Junior All-Ireland Champions Carlow will face Down in their first match at Intermediate level.

Laois and Meath complete the line-up for Group 2

Finally, in the Premier Junior Championship defeated All-Ireland finalists Armagh will face Kerry in the opening round in Group 2 that sees Clare and Roscommon complete the line-up.

Group 1 consists of Dublin, Offaly, Waterford, Westmeath and Wicklow.
