Éamonn Fitzmaurice has been reappointed for a further two years as Kerry senior football manager, following a meeting of the county board.
Fitzmaurice's side were beaten by Dublin in a thrilling All-Ireland SFC semi-final last week and in the wake of that defeat, RTÉ GAA analyst and Kerry legend Pat Spillane, while praising Fitzmaurice's record, said that he expected a change.
However there has been a groundswell of support for the Finuge man, who has only suffered three Championship defeats - all against Dublin - in his time in charge of the Kingdom.
Fitzmaurice has been in charge since taking over from two-time manager Jack O'Connor for the 2013 season.
Tonight’s appointment will see him at the helm for a fifth year in 2017 having led Kerry to four successive Munster titles and an All-Ireland title in 2014.
The Kerry boss will reveal his backroom team at a later date.
