Paddy Andrews of Dublin and Kilkenny’s TJ Reid have been named as the Opel GAA/GPA Players of the Month for September in football and hurling respectively.

Andrews' starring roles in Dublin's semi-final replay victory over Mayo and the final win against Kerry earned the St Brigid's man the accolade and an All-Star nomination.

Ballyhale Shamrocks forward TJ Reid won All-Ireland medal number seven as Kilkenny fought back against Galway in the hurling decider, scoring 1-07 in that game.

In addition to an All-Star nod, Reid has been nominated for Hurler of the Year alongside team-mate Richie Hogan and Tipperary's Seamus Callanan.
