Brolly: 'Dublin are a pleasure to watch'

And so the Dublin machine keeps ticking along effortlessly. Kildare were duly dispatched in Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-final.

Westmeath are next up to try and put a spoke in things in the provincial decider on 12 July.

RTÉ analyst Joe Brolly was waxing lyrical about the Dubs after their demolition of Kildare. "For a neutral, they are an absolute pleasure to watch," he said.

"Their philosophy and honesty is totally admirable. If you're coaching youngsters - they are the role models."

Pat Spillane equates Jim Gavin's squad to the Kerry side that conquered all in the 1970s and 90s.

"The panel is so, so strong that a poor performance means you're gone. If you look at the sideline, you'll see James McCarthy, Paddy Andrews, Alan Brogan and Rory O'Carroll all ready to come on."

When asked whether Dublin can go on and reclaim the All-Ireland, Brolly added: "When you come down to the top table (Dublin, Donegal, Kerry and Mayo), you're talking about serious, serious teams with a ruthless structure and that ability.

"We know they've all won All-Irelands apart from Mayo."
