London Irish Rugby Club's training facility will host football and hurling games in 2016 as London GAA move there on a temporary basis to play their fixtures in the Allianz Football and Hurling League.

A multi-million pound development of London's GAA's grounds at Ruislip has led to the move and so in the spring of the next year, the Exiles will play their homes games at the Hazlewood facility in Sunbury.

Hazelwood is also likely to host club action in November and December, as the London winners in both hurling and football enter the All-Ireland series.

Construction of the redeveloped Emerald Grounds in Ruislip is due for completion in May 2016, in time for London's Connacht SFC clash against Mayo.

Commenting on the move, GAA President Aogán Ó Fearghail said: "I would like to thank London Irish Rugby Club who are providing facilities.

"It is important to acknowledge that there is a close bond and friendship between the London Irish and the GAA in London."

Earlier this week, London GAA confirmed that corporate naming rights for the redeveloped Ruislip will be up for offer.
