Gavin White is set to take on the Kerry captaincy for the 2025 season, succeeding Paudie Clifford in the role.
The Kingdom remain one of the few counties that still select their captain from the winners of the county championship, and Dr Crokes' 2024 title paved the way for the 27-year-old's nomination for this year.
"Dr Crokes have nominated Gavin White as Kerry captain for the 2025 season. We wish Gavin and all of the Kerry team the best of luck for the season ahead," said the club, who earlier this month narrowly missed out on reaching the AIB All-Ireland Club Football final after losing their semi-final against eventual runners-up Errigal Ciaran.
Paudie Clifford served as Kerry captain for the 2024 season, having himself succeeded his younger brother and fellow multiple All-Star winner David in the role.
For White, this year will mark the second time he will have captained his county, having done so in 2019.
Kerry will begin their Allianz League Division 1 campaign this weekend, with Jim McGuinness' Donegal the visitors to Killarney on Sunday.
