Kerry are set to go into the defence of their All-Ireland football crown without the services of forward Jack Savage who has emigrated to Dubai for work reasons.

The Kerins O'Rahilly's man, along with clubmate Cormac Coffey, is believed to be Dubai-bound for a year.

O'Rahilly's manager William Harmon confirmed to the Kerryman that Savage is due to fly to the Middle East on Wednesday.

"Cormac is gone abroad which is unfortunate. Jack is going as well on Wednesday, to Dubai," the O’Rahillys manager said.

Savage came on as a temporary sub for Paudie Clifford in the Kingdom's four-point victory over Galway in July's All-Ireland decider.

More recently, the 27-year-old bagged 1-05 in Kerins O'Rahilly's county championship win over Spa last Saturday, a match Coffey missed as he had already left the country.

Savage, who won a minor All-Ireland in 2013, was recalled to the Kerry squad by the returning Jack O'Connor last winter having not featured for his county since 2018.
