Kildare footballer Paddy Brophy has signed a two-year rookie deal to play Aussie Rules with the West Coast Eagles in Perth.

The 20-year-old from Celbridge made the decision after a recent three-day visit to Perth to view the club's facilities.

Brophy will be placed on the club's Rookie B List, qualifying for a place on the list as he has not been registered in an Australian football competition for the past three years.
