Louth and Leitrim meet at Croke Park on Sunday to decide where the Tommy Murphy Cup will spend the winter, throw-in at 2.00pm.
When the competition was devised, it was occasions like this that were the main selling points to the GAA.
Two counties that scarcely get the chance to grace Headquarters will now do so in late August, a good reward for the players that have been training since just after Christmas.
Louth have been in better form over the entire season but Leitrim have been improving of late. This has the potential to be one of the clashes of the year.
Louth will look to their strong full-forward line and midfield to establish a lead in the first half.
If they allow Leitrim to gain a foothold, the Connacht side have enough inner belief to run them into the ground.
The men from the wee county should end their impressive year with some more silverware in the cabinet, however, Leitrim won't let them have it easily.
