Tyrone footballers Peter Canavan and Stephen O'Neill have been successful in appealing the red cards they incurred in last week's Ulster football final replay with Armagh.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Central Disciplinary Committee of the GAA last night.

However, Ryan McMenamin (Tyrone), Paul McGrane (Armagh) and Ciaran McKeever (Armagh) will all face charges arising out of incidents in the same game.

Meanwhile, Mayo's Trevor Mortimer has been suspended for four weeks from the date of his last game following an incident in the Connacht football final on July 10. He will now miss this weekend's fourth round qualifier with Cavan.

Finally, Clare hurling manager Anthony Daly will have to watch his side's next game from the stand for unauthorised pitch incursions during last Sunday's win over Wexford.
